It's been thrilling to see the change in my 11 year old Chandler's attitude and I believe it is directly due to Dan's skilled coaching and the self confidence it has fostered. When Chandler first began working with Dan, he was a young boy with a strong arm, but now he's an amazing pitcher with a disciplined throw. Dan Helped Chandler to created consistency in his pitching mechanics as well as improved focus on his game. I appreciate Dan's methods of instruction. and would recommend him to anyone who is looking to help their child succeed and improve.

Slade and I still talk about you and refer to the things you taught him 1 1/2 years ago!! Slade has been very successful pitchingfor his little league teams in California. He strikes out over 70% of the batters he faces and has a very low era (even though most of the hitters he faces are a year older)...
Slade has been very successful pitching for his little league teams in California. This season he is 8 - 0 when he starts on the mound. He still uses the techniques you taught him...It is nice to know that a Utah / Athlete can strike out California Hitters.

I was just recently named the head varsity coach of Walter Payton College Prep in Chicago, IL. I truly believe in your pitching philosophies and utilize them as the foundation for our players. I also firmly believe in the mental approach to the game.
We had a big bump in our road last season, just google Walter Payton baseball, and you will know what I mean. The scenario presented to us gave us no option but to emphasize the mental approach to the game on and off the field. I've checked out your videos and they rock! Your concept on velocity was right on the money, and that DIRTY change up is the perfect complement to my tailing 4-seam.

The results were instantaneous and my son was hitting the target more consistently and his velocity increased about 4 mph...
I recently found The Pitching Academy website on the Rocky Mountain Baseball site and decided to give Dan a try. I have a 14 year old son who was having some control problems, and as usual, confidence with his pitching. I was immediately impressed with Dan's simple approach to making minor adjustments in his delivery based on balance and body mechanics...My son is also able to pitch an extra inning or two without the usual arm fatigue. Most of all Dan, is enthusiastic and bestows the necessary work ethic youth need to exceed in pitching. Thanks Dan for your help and cheerful nature.

Dan's ability to spot improper mechanics and teach balance and correct mechanics in a reasonably simplified manner is outstanding. I would highly recommend Dan to anyone serious about improving overall pitching ability...
I first met Dan when I asked a knowledgeable baseball coach and friend, who I could get to help my 12 year old son with his mechanics. Though my sons' mechanics were at the time, quite good, I felt it important to find a coach that could maximize every motion to gain maximum velocity and to insure minimum arm stress. Since that first lesson, Dan has worked several times with my son. Recently, as a 14 year old, my son attended a baseball camp at Southern Nevada College with baseball coach Tim Chambers. Coach Chambers and his Southern Nevada Coyotes won the Junior College Baseball World Series in 2003. The pitching coaches at this camp, highly commended my son for his proper pitching mechanics and his potential to be a very effective pitcher with a very bright future. Today, Dan is giving lessons to all of the players on our 14 year old baseball team.

Having Dan work with my sons on their pitching has been the best thing I could have done for them. Dan's knowledge of pitching is vast and his teaching methods are effective
My 12 year old son Spencer has become an incredible pitcher even though he is the smallest kid on the team. Not only has Dan taught the proper pitching mechanics, but he has taught him how to pitch off speed and keep batters off balance...The drills he has taught are both developmental and fun. I would recommend The Pitching Academy wholeheartedly.
my 10-year-old went from one of the lowest-ranking pitchers to one of the best in about six weeks. The "magic" was a few pitching lessons with Dan...
Dan's positive attitude and ability to explain things simply and logically, appealed to and impacted my son, giving him a solid mechanical base. Working with a young boy, Dan has instructed my son in a manner that will maximize his abilities while helping him avoid forming bad habits that could lead to injuries. (Before working with Dan, my son experienced fatigue and soreness). Because of the noticeable and positive impact made on my son (and the countless questions asking us how/where they could get the same pitching instruction), Dan is now working with our entire team.
Kevin
After the first lesson, I could see a visible improvement in Mitch's velocity while still maintaining his control. Dan has done an exceptional job with all the pitchers on the team. He has the ability quickly analyze and determine what specific area of mechanics each pitcher can focus on to improve. He has the ability to do this in a positive manner with each pitcher...
I first met Dan watching kids pitch at a local ball park. My son Mitch, who was 13 at the time was pitching, Dan seemed very interested in how my son pitched. Dan indicated he had pitched at multiple levels and had received a pitching certification from the world renowned "Tom House School of Pitching." Being familiar with a couple of books Tom House had written, I started to ask him some questions in how Mitch could improve. Dan indicated Mitch had good mechanics but at times opened up a little at front foot landing. I took one of Dan's Business cards, with the thought that I would contact him just before the next season, as I was very impressed in his knowledge and his personal demeanor with parents and kids. This year, the team Mitch is playing for brought in a highly recommended pitching instructor to work with all the pitchers. To my surprise the instructor was Dan. I was very pleased to have Dan work with my son on his mechanics and on the pitchers attitude.

Dan's approach and emphasis on correct mechanics based on his own experience and research makes him my choice to instruct my son...
As a parent, my main concern for my son's pitching is the protection of his young arm. Over the years I've seen many young athletes injured, only to have very short pitching years instead of concentrating on long term potential. Thank you, Dan!
Scott
Dan is a wonderful teacher and is very talented at presenting the proper mechanics in a way that even the youngest of kids can understand and implement. Dan takes his time and is very giving of the knowledge and natural ability he has perfected...
Dan is very patient and is always concerned with how the student comprehends what is being taught...Dan gets excited and is full of energy and is looking to point out the positive when mechanics are done right and is willing to take the time to overcome setbacks.
Todd
Gunner is average to small in size and when people see him pitch, they cannot believe the speed that can come from such a small kid. I attribute this to the excellent instruction he receives from Dan. He not only teaches great mechanics, but he does it in a way that Gunner understands and enjoys. Dan is the best by far...
My son Gunner has been working with Dan for about 6 months. He has always had a strong arm, but Dan has taught him the proper mechanics to get the most out of his natural ability.
Andrew
After being away from baseball for two years my pitching needed a lot of work. I was trying to get back into playing shape so that I could play college baseball...As I continued to work with him I noticed that I could throw harder with less effort and better control. My curveball broke sharper and harder than before...
I started working with Dan and I noticed big improvements in my throwing motion. I like how he started with the most basic and smallest details. It made it easy to work on things he taught in between lessons...He had a pitching philosophy that incorporated adjustments but allowed you to keep your natural throwing motion. I have kept working with him during the off season to make sure that I continue to improve and stay mechanically sound. I would recommend him to anybody that wants to improve on the mound.
Nate
I recently took a trip from Seattle down to Utah to provide some hitting instruction with some hitters in the Salt Lake City area. I had the opportunity to connect with Dan of the Pitching Academy and watch him work with his pitchers. I was immediately impressed at the way Dan connected with his players and relayed pitching information. While there are countless former athletes who provide various levels of baseball instruction, very few have the ability to communicate training information effectively with each player. Dan has that ability.
Good mechanics take time to develop and Dan works in an organized manner with the clear focus of player understanding in mind. He wont rush players ahead but hell shift and change mechanics until an athlete understands the correct approach. I even tagged along on a few pitching lessons and Dan taught me a splitter! Only if I had learned that back when I pitched in college.
David
I have been impressed with the amount of progress and improvement my two sons have had in their pitching abilities after taking lessons from Dan. Dan has a talent in teaching correct mechanics and techniques needed in playing the game of baseball. I am convinced that his ability to teach in a positive manner has resulted in the success of both of my sons. I recommend to anyone the investment of having Dan instruct baseball players at any age in improving their pitching skills.
Brad
Having my son work with Dan has been a great confidence booster. For the last two and half years Kade has learned a tremendous amount about the key points of proper pitching mechanics. Maintaining balance has helped him pitch more consistently and he does not walk many kids now. In Kades last game he pitched six innings allowing only 4 hits 2 walks and no runs. This is a great accomplishment for a 10 year old boy who plays up a level.
David Moore
We started with a few pitchers in the 9 year old age group who threw fast but their arms began to hurt after throwing only an inning or two. One player threw three innings and was crying in pain after finishing. After Dan sharpened their mechanics and rid them of their unnecessary pitching motions, each pitchers speed increased 5-10 miles per hour. They had much greater ball control and most importantly they were able to throw more overall pitches without pain.
Dan has a great way with the kids and makes learning correct pitching mechanics fun and entertaining. He answers their questions on their level. I would strongly recommend Dan and The Pitching Academy to everyone who wants their pitchers to be successful.

I live and help coach a team north of Cincinnati Ohio (11U) and we just had a coaches meeting in which we watched some of the DVD's that I purchased and I must say that has helped all of us become better coaches! We are using what we learned to prepare for our indoor work that starts in Jan. So thank you.

I wrote a while back to thank you for helping me to get back on the right track after not playing baseball for some years. I still read your email newsletters and even got some of the other players in the adult league and some of the little leagues here in Arkansas to register and check out your site. I have been working on some completing my college degree online and the class I am taking right now wanted me to write about something I feel strongly about. After reading your articles over the past few months and looking at some of the local little league coaches I realized that you were right that a lot of them were unaware of what they were doing. This has become the topic of the paper that I will be writing and even though I know that I'm not perfect I still have a passion to learn more about the game and teach others the proper methods of playing and improving themselves. Again I just wanted to say thanks for the informational articles and telling the truth even if it's not what we want to hear. I am starting my winter workouts and trying to figure out how to fine tune my pitching some more with your techniques and methods of training. Thanks again for all your support to the game.
Craig
As you know, I subscribe to “The Pitching Academy” website and receive and read all your email tips and articles and find them very useful when discussing situations and pitching tactics with Erik. I cannot tell you how many people I have referred to your site and they have come back to thank me for the advice. I would suggest anyone who has a blossoming pitcher to subscribe, read and relay the information from “The Pitching Academy”. It is truly well developed information essential for these young athletes to know and employ.
Kevin
First off, thank you for the service you provide. I look forward to your emails in my inbox, and I have "saved" many of them for future use. I also think your DVD's are great, and I have watched the pitching mechanics DVD's several times over.
Rod
I have the DVD`S from you and I read your emails daily. I research every site I can find and I`ve bought so many DVD`s on pitching that I feel I`m very knowledgeable and I love the stuff you put out more than anyone in the business. Just wanted to say I think you are great!
Kevin
I really enjoyed the pitching velocity video. I have studied pitching mechanics for about 4 years now. During my research, the info I have attained was very similar to yours although I thought yours was better explained and demonstrated. I also picked up on some small details that I was unaware of. Thanks again for the info.

I began bringing my 10 year old son to Dan in February. My husband was deployed and I didn't know anything about pitching. Dan not only worked with my son, Christian, but he also showed me how to help Christian maintain proper form all the way through the motions. What a great help that was! I was able to work with Christian in between his pitching lessons utilizing the instruction Dan gave me. And it paid off! Christian pitched a no hitter the first time he went to the mound this year! Thanks Dan! You rock!

I have been following your e-mails and using your pitching DVD's for the last couple of years. They have been a huge help as my son has gone from little league into U13 federation ball and has had a mixed bag of coaches and instruction.

If you are a parent and are looking to help your child strengthen their confidence on the mound, you've got to buy his pitching products! Dan's experience coupled with his ability to teach clearly will be a benefit to anyone looking to take their pitching to the next level. Thank you Pitching Academy!
Don
My relationship with the The Pitching Academy started like many others. I was looking for a way to help my son develop his pitching skills. I searched all over the Internet and locally in my area but I could not find something that was easy to understand and cost effective for me as a parent. When I found The Pitching Academy products I was a little skeptical of buying another DVD online but I felt that these Baseball DVD's were different. I am glad I made the purchase! This DVD's are great!Dan does a fantastic job of breaking down the complexities of pitching mechanics in such a way that a parent or player can easily understand them and duplicate them. The DVD's have not only helped my son but helped me become a better teacher of baseball. I help coach an 11U team and it is my go to DVD when teaching pitching to our players. What makes these DVD's different from others is that the content goes beyond the DVDs. Dan provides email updates on pitching topics that keep you informed and provide yet another way to help your son. If you are serious about helping your son learn the right mechanics when it comes to pitching then look no further. Buy the pitching DVD's and sign up to receive emails. You will not regret it.

Dan has been instrumental in helping my sons improve in many aspects of the game of baseball. His Pitching DVD's can be used to view and re-view. They teach basics that even younger kids can understand. My oldest son worked with Dan on his pitching mechanics and helped him become a D1 baseball pitcher. My 2nd oldest son has worked with Dan also and currently is a starting pitcher on his High School team.

Whether you're looking for a complete approach to pitching, or just some answers to "How to.." this inexpensive program is the best. Dan has put together this comprehensive, instructional program on pitching the correct way, the way successful pros do it. That is the big difference here, since a plethora of instructional videos on the market are demonstrating so many incorrect pitching mechanics and methods. Those methods can hinder success at the plate or even damage a young pitcher's arm.
The Pitching Academy viewpoint of doing things the way the MLB players do it accounts for the success of their DVD's.. They are easy to follow and fun to put into practice. Plus, Dan will answer any questions you might have. He cares about helping players get to the top of their game.
D.A.
I have been teaching younger pitchers and after studying The Pitching Academy's DVD's, I have been able to work better with my kids. Dan's emphasis on the mental aspects of pitching along with his injury prevention advice complement the mechanical side of teaching young pitchers very well. I'd say How to Teach Pitchers is a must for Youth baseball coaches and any parent who wants to see his own child grow in pitching.
Eric
My son was about 11 when he began taking pitching lessons from Dan at The Pitching Academy. While he had a good arm he lacked consistency. It took one lesson for Dan to teach him the pitching mechanics that helped him have a successful high school pitching career. Dan's approach was simple and made sense from a physical standpoint. These DVDs helped us to stay on track and served as an excellent way to reinforce the skills learned at private workouts with Dan. I recommend these pitching DVD's to anyone interested in developing there physical and mental approach to playing baseball.
Eric
The Pitching DVD's are a must own for any developing pitcher. Whether you're the coach or the student, YOU WILL BENEFIT FROM THEM! My sons pitching has improved leaps and bounds from the knowledge and instructions found in the Pitching Grips and Workouts DVD. From mechanics to exercises/workouts and everything in between; its all here. A great investment for certain, I would recommend it to anyone.
Joe
We have had the DVD's now for about a week. I am very pleased. I was already happy with the information Dan provides through the articles, youtube, and emails (free stuff). I was expecting the DVDs to simply reinforce the things I have already heard. I was pleasantly surprised how much more comprehensive the material is on the DVDs. I was happy to pay the price just to compensate The Pitching Academy in a small way for what I have already learned!I am excited to re-watch them several times and to always have them as a resource. The drills have really paid off for my boys. I LOVE to see how they have flamed the fire in my boys for the game.

After searching all over the Internet and locally in my area I could not find the right baseball training that was easy to understand and cost effective for me as a parent. I was looking for something that I could do at home with my son without the high cost of individual pitching lessons. Then I found The Pitching Academy DVD's. I was a little skeptical of buying more instructional products online but after digging into their site I could tell these DVD's were different. I am glad I made this purchase! This DVD's are great! Dan does a fantastic job of breaking down the complexities of pitching mechanics in such a way that a parent or player can easily understand them and duplicate them. Dan teaches mechanics by showing you what MLB players are doing so you can be confident in applying what you learn. Thes TPA DVD's have not only helped my son but helped me become a better teacher of baseball. I help coach a 12U travel team and it is my go to DVD when teaching pitching to our players. What also makes these DVD's different from others is that the content goes beyond the DVDs. Dan provides email updates on pitching topics that keep you informed and provide yet another way to help your son. Dan does not simply sell you a DVD and then forget about you. He loves to hear from parents and players and has always been there to respond to any questions I have had. I feel that I have build a relationship with Dan and the benefits go well beyond his products. The internet is a great thing but the amount of incorrect information that you can find is overwhelming. Do yourself and your son a favor, purchase the instructional DVD's and sign-up for communications from The Pitching Academy. You will not regret it!
